My Own Private Island Office
Sometimes, I forget where I live.
No, that's not it...... sometimes I forget why I live here.
No, that's not really the point either... I think it is just human nature to take things for granted.
Doesn't matter what things, anything, we just do!
Think about it, when is the last time you were appreciative of your health?
And do you remember last time you had the BAD flu, the kind that put you in bed for a few days?
How every single movement hurts, dying seems like a perfectly fine option and you think "I will never take "feeling good" for granted again"?
Ok, so in that sense, I sometimes forget where I live and the absolute breathtaking, stunning, magical beauty of this place.
In my own defense, I am 'stuck' in the office every day, which is undoubtedly different from being here on vacation, but still you'd think I'd get my ass to the beach every day or at least drive around the island.
But the fact is that I don't usually think about those things during the day.

So, yesterday when the rest of the family said they were going to use our friend, Captain Nature Boy's boat to drive to a tiny, uninhabited island (pictured above) called Scilly Cay, I didn't even flinch. I am sure something like "I got stuff to do" is what I said in response to their invitation.
So they all grabbed their stuff and got in the van, and started the long process of starting the car.
I am not sure if the overdue session abstract I was supposed to have turned in, or the hardware migration I had scheduled for later last night, made me change my mind, but in a random act of impulsivity, I shut my laptop, grabbed it and ran outside to catch the smoking van just in time.
It wasn't much longer before I sat there under a straw roof, on a tiny (50m x 70m) island in the Caribbean, looking at the below.....
Speechless....

....speechless, until I figured out that I was actually able to catch a wireless signal on the island at which point the words "HOLY SHIT!" came out of my mouth.
So to hell with my new office, I just found my own, private island office!
