Eating My Own Words - And Other Things That Don't Taste Good

Well, that was a nice follow-up to my "I desperately want my kids to know what it means to run out of stuff".
It appears that karma decided to teach me something as well....

What happened is that we ran out of gas yesterday, which we use to cook and bake.  So no big deal, sandwiches for dinner and a new tank was ordered yesterday afternoon, which should have been here today.

A reminder for those of you that don't live on Anguilla, there are NO fast food restaurants and we have NO potable water and have to boil our own.  It is IMPOSSIBLE for us to eat or drink without being able to cook - which means have gas to cook with.

So just now we got a call that there will be no gas deliered to our house today.
There just weren't any tanks on the boat today.
And the next boat won't be here until Monday.
And the closest 24hr WalMart is 2500 miles away......

Not sure which tastes worse -  the uncooked 'food' we will be eating this weekend or eating my own words!

It sounds like you only had stuff that *needs* cooking but *couldn't* be cooked ... rather than having stuff that does not need cooking in the first place (like chocolate - bread, hey, and even cheese) - if so, my sincere condolences!
