T - 13
A couple of weeks ago we were informed that we had 30 days to find new accommodations - i.e. get out of our current rental house. As it turns out, some big developer on the island is offering insane amounts for rental homes for their imported workers, which is making it difficult to find a rental, as "insane amounts" is not something we can swing.
This issue is concerning me on more than the obvious level, as part of the reason we came here had to do with the absence of big developments as well as a lack of focus on making more and more money. How long can any culture continue to focus on what's important, rather than on making more $ to spend on more things that aren't needed, if they're slowly surrounded by and bombarded with $?
Perhaps it's ignorant to think that this little piece of paradise can continue to stay innocent and perhaps I'm making too big a deal aout it.
All I know is as of right this second we're going crib-less in 13 days. Good thing we have nothing to pack!
Anyone got one of these we can borrow?
