We just went and looked at a new house on the island as our lease got terminated. 
I'd love to tell you where it is but there is no such thing as a street address here, just parts of the island and usually the owner of the house is the same as a street number.  So here you'd find our old house by asking for "Roderick's old house in Sandy Hill" and everyone would know where we live. 
Our new address is hence "Ping's place by North Hill".

When we asked for the lease terms Ping looked at us like we were foreigners (duh!)

"Your word and hand-shake is the same to me"

Turns out he's got some of his places leased out until 2010 - on a promise and two people's words.



I like that way of conducting business, and the view from our new patio ain't half bad either, don't you think?
