No Beaches in Dallas

While we try to have playtime with the kids after dinner, it doesn't usually happen that all 6 people in our family are interested in doing the same thing.  Tonight, Pickles started a game of "pretend school", sitting in front of the couch on high bar chairs, reading to/lecturing mainly Explora and I.  Soon the rest of the kids also got into it as "the principal", "Dr Lola" and the "PE teacher" and they all had a great time, basically telling us what to do and to be quiet.

When our resident super-snorkling swimmer fish Pickles was lecturing us on what she was going to do during her upcoming 5 week long trip to Dallas (Texas), the words "going to the beach" came out of her mouth repeatedly.  Explora raised his hand:

"Teacher Pickles, there are no beaches in Dallas"

OMG, you should have seen her face, in about 3 seconds it literally went from sheer, innocent joy to someone stomping on her little heart.  Her wide smile turned to shock and disbelief and all she got out was:

"WHAT DO YOU MEAN THERE ARE NO BEACHES IN DALLAS!?!?!"
