There ARE Beaches In Dallas!
Folks, this doesn't happen but once or twice a year... but today I found out I was wrong as we enjoyed a full day at the beach, right here in Dallas (Fort Worth, really) Texas.

The man-made "beach" is in Fort Worth at the spring-fed Burger's Lake, about an hour's drive west of Lance's house in Dallas. The kids had a blast jumping off the diving boards, slides and swings and little Pickles enjoyed showing off to the bigger kids, by jumping off the 10ft/3m diving boards and racing down the 20ft/6m slide by herself.
The kids (really just the 4 year old twins) were confused by the color of the water, as in Anguilla it's crystal clear and you can see 30ft deep easily. I also had to explain why there were no fish swimming around.... don't think I'll be proven wrong on this one...
"No Lola.... there are no Barracuda in Dallas!
