We're barely back a day and it's already party time.... sweet Lawya turned 10 today, which is a big deal because (I am told) "that means he's almost old enough to drive" - Yeah right!



Either way, it was time for a great day of things we don't usually do, like eat dinner things for breakfast, and breakfast things for dinner.
We even managed to surprise the birthday boy..... Mr. "Mom, don't worry about presents, there aren't any good toys on the island anyway" and got super-sneaky and brought some from the US. 
At our house it's a tradition that each kid gets a present at someone else's birthday (which makes for a total of 6 present-occasions during the year PER kid), so we spent the rest of the day making crafts and playing games and - of course - going to the beach and listening to live reggae music while watching the sunset!

Birthday Boy, I can't believe you're 10 years old, although you've always been mature beyond your years, like the time you were 3 and criticizing my parenting style (although you were right in what you said).
You're analytical, opinionated and argumentative as your nickname implies, but also incredibly kind and gentle, giving and protective with those you love. 
You've always been able to see straight into anyone's soul and know how they feel and how to help in an instant.  Your effect on people and animals of all ages is amazing (and sometimes scary) to watch and you're adored like a super-hero by all younger siblings as well as by pets of this household. 



May the force be with you young Jedi, I can't wait to see you grow up/older!
