Jungle Boogie
Apparently, today is the day of the wild animals here in Anguilla as it's been one critter incident after another.
(All you arachnophobics and ophidiophobics, look away now)
First, while doing dishes I was once again greeted by a baby tarantula in the sink that wasn't very happy to see me. I didn't get a pic of it this time, but it was the smaller version of the one below that we had at our house a while back.

Just a few minutes after the capturing of our baby tarantula, we got word that our neighbor, our school's new Kindergarten teacher, got bit by a snake while walking up to her apartment. She is fine but pretty freaked out, since she just moved here a week ago and is still trying to cope with the no water and left hand driving thing.
Of course we had to contribute to this situation by providing the appropriate signage for all other serpents in the area. We also left a 12ft snake and our baby tarantula over there, hoping it might ward off further snake attacks

Lastly, the oh so cute kitties got a hold of a butterfly and mangled it half dead and drug it in the kids room. After the kids stopped screaming and crying, they tried for an hour to get the butterfly to fly again, which included attempts to run really fast with the butterfly on their finger - which didn't work of course.
This was followed by the kids thoroughly reprimanding the cats about killing living things, which the kitties were very affected by, as you can see..

Well, the day is not over yet and there are at least another 5000 animal and insect species left on the island.
Let's see what we can come up with before tonight
(Note: No animals were harmed in the making of this blog article and the tarantula was let go peacefully. I didn't keep track of the butterfly, but technically speaking I can't verify that it really IS dead.)
