The US is Taking Over
Last week, the Department of State and Homeland Security released the below promotional video titled "Welcome: Portraits of America" which is meant to be played at airports to welcome tourists and visitors and show off all the glory of the United Stated of America.
Now either:
What's the problem with the video?
Watch closely and about 4 minutes into it, you'll see the gorgeous Niagara falls.
But not just ANY Niagara falls..... the Canadian Horseshoe Falls!
Not only that, the scene is shot from Canadian soil.... as in "there is no way you can actually see that when coming to America".
Perhaps the video should be called "Welcome: Portraits of America and places that might as well be".
Now either:
- the Bush administration is trying to take over the World
- lots of people didn't do their homework
- the 3,793,079 square miles that makes up the United States just doesn't have enough note-worthy places

Funny, we try to teach BondGirl one new US word or expression every day, and last night's word of the day was "barf", which the kids had a lot of fun explaining and using in context.
We've also made it past "knock knock" jokes but I don't really think she gets the point of those
