What I Learned the Past 3 Week - Part II

  • Having lived on a tiny Caribbean island for the past year and a half, being able to take public transportation to check out amazing architecture, history and art by Picasso, Miro, Matisse and Chagal feels amazing!

  • Ronaldinho is a big deal in Spain and there was quite a hoopla with crowds and TV stations as he arrived at our conference hotel with his 6 body guards.
  • My Mom is a blast to hang out with, even in custom candy stores and all the other (mean) conference speakers agreed to import her for the next European conference instead of me next time
  • Meanwhile back at the ranch, the kids had an awesome Christmas performance which included break-dancing, ballerinas and shy singing kids.

  • Getting caught in a 10 thousand shouting and upset people protest is somewhat scary for both me and Spanky
  • The unfortunate new nickname I got courtesy of a conference attendee was somewhat  made up for by other incredibly sweet conference speakers, that left chocolate in my session
  • My friend Ana, which came to visit me from Switzerland orders amazingly expensive (and good) Paella, Jamon de Pata Negra and wine and her Spanish is very helpful when trying to return something to a store!

  • Walking about 92 thousand steps makes you very tired
  • My travel karma got CLEANSED (or possibly distributed to others) by my amazing friend Nina (with assistance from Susan) and miraculously enough - I made it back from Barcelona, after a 23 hour trip, in one piece, ON TIME, WITH MY LUGGAGE, which is something that hasn't happened in about a year now.
  • Other conference speakers turn into nosy jack-asses as soon as your high-school friend and Mother turn up and start drinking and hence answering any and every embarrassing question about my youth
