13 Signs I'm Back from Lotusphere...

  • the thousands of free roaming goats, chickens and occasional cows in our yard and on the roads seem weird again

  • I am no longer anonymous and have been getting "welcome back" honks, phone calls and waves by the local islanders all day

  • driving on the left takes concentration again

  • I no longer need a winter coat, or many "proper" clothes or shoes for that matter

  • the colour palette of my surroundings has changed from this......
    to this....

  • nobody even bats an eye when I dance in the middle of our "town square" to greatly missed reggae music

  • I am sleep deprived and over-stimulated which shows up in the shape of walking into stationary objects, adding to the large collection of bruises I got at Lotusphere

  • I once again remember how much I've missed Anguilla's lack of manicured-ness and the warm 78 degree / 29 Celsius breeze is indescribable and makes you feel sooo free

  • I get random hugs from my four favorite people in the world, which look at me with their amazing, shiny eyes

  • purchasing incredibly flavourful and all natural food is once again possible in The Valley (our downtown), such as grape leaf wrapped corn dumplings, whole fried fish and of course, rice and peas, which was lunch

  • my living quarters are no longer being made by someone every day and I am once again in charge of dishes, laundry and cleaning for 5 very messy people

  • my kids look tan to me, while I look pale in comparison

  • my kids make me laugh numerous times a day with their hilarious sense of humour. Of course some of you Lotuspherians are funny as well, just not as cute

Good lord. That was me by Tuesday in Orlando. I was seeing tracers at my first session.

Fabulous to meet you this week, Francie.

I'm looking at your photos thinking that returning to the grey of our 'green and pleasant land' isn't quite so appealing any more

The Anguilla pictures aren't nice. You get beaches and I get 12" of snow. Oh, well, I chose Cleveland.

Just discovered your blog and wanted to say hi - I met you briefly during Lotusphere(Dolphin Sports bar, I was with Thomas Gumz and we chatted about Ralph being your babysitter!)

Wow, you certainly live in a beautiful place and as for the kids, they're pretty gorgeous too! As a (part-time) step-mum myself I've enjoyed reading some of your family posts and have picked up a few tips. You're doing a grand job...

Hey Cali! Yes, of course I remember you! As a matter of fact, I was trying to deliver all the well wishes to Ralph but couldn't think of your name, so I am glad you commented! (And sorry I forgot your name)

Anguilla is beautiful but I hope I also succeed in showing another side of  "paradise", as living here is very tough at times.  In that sense, it's all about what you chose to create your own personal "paradise", which has sort of become a theme of the blog.

Glad you found something useful on here, will shoot you a note offline so you have my email!
