World Banana Day
Not sure how I managed to miss "World Banana Day" on February 21st!
As those of you on Twitter know, there has been an island wide outage of bananas in the past few months, but about a week ago, a local merchant called to give me the "insider tip" that a boat carrying the yellow goodness had arrived at our shipping harbour.
He was right, and since then, it's only taken visit to a couple of different stores (compared to fruitless searches across 5 stores before) to find the fruit in the neatest wrapper again.
For the record, I never used to be obsessed with bananas, until we went almost 3 months
without them. And I'm sure you know how you start craving something,
if you can't get it. Except "not being able to get it" here, means your entire country is out. Think about that!
Thanks to Buchan for pointing World Banana Day out to me, even though you were actually making fun of me.

Not at all - I'd never make fun of a nutso swiss dwarf with an army of followers..
Today is National Banana Bread Day, BTW

I am all for great learning while having fun! (Having suffered through not so great schools) So I bought a raflle ticket! Wouldn't mind springing this holiday to my dear wife either...
